Boating Regulations

Wake is allowed on Clear Lake on:

  • Weekdays 11:00 am - Sunset

  • Weekends & Holidays 11:00 am - 3:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Slow no wake is required at all other times.

​

The operation of personal watercraft on Clear Lake is prohibited on:

  • ​The weekend from sunset on Friday until sunrise on Monday

  • Memorial Day, the Fourth of July and Labor Day.

​

All wake traffic must operate counterclockwise.

WISCONSIN DNR BOATING LAWS

The Wisconsin DNR publishes The Handbook of Wisconsin Boating Laws and Responsibilities. The handbook details boating laws, safety tips, and recommended practices.

WISCONSIN FISHING REGULATIONS

Fishing regulations are used to: control angler impact on fish populations, maintain numbers and sizes of fish, provide various types of fishing experiences,  and make access to fishing as fair as possible.

WISCONSIN BOATING REGULATIONS

Visit the Wisconsin DNR website to register your boat, view boat regulations, sign up for boat safety classes, report a boat incident, or view annual reports. 

TOWN OF MILTON ORDINANCES 

The Town Board of the Town of Milton determines the Boats and Boating Regulations for Clear Lake. Regulations detail wake rules, placement of slow-no-wake buoys, and traffic direction. 

ZONING REGULATIONS

The Rock County Land Use Management and Zoning Department details zoning regulations for shorelands.
